@wtb_Michael although i'd say she has more in common with William H. Gass (though there's some Delillo similarities in there) I reckon Grace Paley's short stories slot into that style of writing, if avoiding the full on paranoid fabulations of the 2 boyz

@wtb_Michael !!! Joy Williams is imho the best American writer of the past 60 years. I'd start with The Changeling (though all her novels are great) and pick up her collected short stories, which are incredible.
