@roopikarisam I wonder if this particular way of thinking about theory is also a ‘white’ obsession. I get that a lot when writing about Asian subjects especially when submitting to a very white journal. Maybe someone needs to write a meta paper on it.

And started on Dark Forest by Cixin Liu, trying to finish ‘Can Ci Pin’ by Priest (a plume de nom), maybe start on Chase of the Wild Goose. Oh, and reading Susan Sontag’s essays. And other random stuff including translated manga.

Finally finished Matt Ruff’s 88 Names - can’t help but think that the plot twist at the end is inspired by installation-plan light novels tropes (world-building is slow burn for a fast novel) across genres. That I can identify tropes tells you about my fiction diet these days 😂.
