@samatlounge Aside from Betty Blue, I'd go for Philippe Petit's To Reach the Clouds, which became Man on Wire. And of course Silence of the Lambs (The Hannibal Lecter novels were my specialist subject on Mastermind as I bore everyone by saying!)

@MarieAllitt Not sure it's from the discipline you're looking for but Martin Buber's I and Thou feels like it's really important. Phenomenology in general feels like it has a lot to say about the importance of "I". Maybe Hannah Arendt too?
