@alyssaharad Yes! I think you can find it in Galway Kinnell’s The Book of Nightmares, which is one of the Ur poetic texts of that time period. Also in Yusuf Komunyakaa’s Dien Cai Dau from 1988, poems from his experiences in the war.

Hilary Mantel. What she did with pov in Wolf Hall books was genius. The way Cromwell’s pov merged with the men he served, until he reached his own pinnacle of power. She brought interior experience of vast forces alive. What a writer! RIP #HilaryMantel

@cteicher Chagall’s! If you haven’t read M Train yet, I loved it. And of course The Autobiography of Alice B. Toklas (Stein). I also feel weirdly compelled to rec Black Lamb, Grey Falcon: Rebecca West. One of the great 20th C books, tho 1500 pp long.
