@JohnLorinc I hope you’ve read The Table Comes First by Adam Gopnik. It explains so well the history of the attitudes towards alcohol consumption in England vs continental europe. Ontario inherited the British model 😢

@nathankhensley @LawwsonKate I was disturbed by the “Canada doesn’t have many forests” line. Has the author ever flown over Canada? There’s been massive tree-planting, but Canada is a forested country. If you like fiction, I highly recommend Annie Proulx’s Barkskins. It even references forest management.
