Nice piece on St John of the Cross. If you haven’t read his writings, three mentioned here are the main ones. I would advise reading ‘The Spiritual Canticle’ first, ‘Dark Night’ & ‘Ascent of Mt Carmel’ are heavy & tend to frighten people & turn them off St John. Read them later. https://t.co/emqilIGLLh

Some people fear John of the Cross, I remember some religious complaining about how dark & depressing he was. They misread him. When you first come to John never start with ‘Dark Night of the Soul’ or ‘Ascent of Mt Carmel’. Too heavy for beginners, ‘Spiritual Canticle’ is better. https://t.co/9qVmOOZ0IX
