@EllieMRoberts Caroline loved the Mistborn series (Brandon Sanderson). And the Inheritance series by Paolini. Le Guin good at any age. Bujold much fun. Robin Hobb Liveship traders was relatively approachable. Would not recommend 1984 or the Hobbit which gave me nightmares at that sort of age,

@lizgloyn You might find Lois McMaster Bujold’s World of the Five Gods enjoyable. Good quality theological fantasy. The Curse of Chalion and The Paladin of Souls are the best two, but they’re all good.

@tiphanieyanique Elizabeth Goudge, The Herb of Grace. Title = name of old inn. How the restoration of the Inn rebuilds the family. Actually most of her work revolves around a building! Mervyn Peake, Gormenghast series (basically set of short stories based around an imaginary gothic mansion).
