Despite the heavy rain, I donned an umbrella and headed out for my usual 2-1/2 mile morning walk, just after 6am. Saw only 1 other brave soul. Was kept company by James Boswell, Samuel Johnson, Adam Smith, et. al. featured in THE CLUB by Leo Damrosch.

@kodermike @PrinceJvstin You know what, back in the early 1950s, John Campbell told Isaac Asimov that you could never have a good science fiction mystery because the writer could simply invent some gadget to help solve the puzzle. As challenge to that, Asimov wrote THE CAVES OF STEEL.

@PrinceJvstin So far it is a charming little collection of essays called A PLACE TO READ: LIFE AND BOOKS by Michael Cohen. Runners-up: THIS LIVING HAND: Essays, 1972-2012 by Edmund Morris, & DESTINY OF THE REPUBLIC by Candice Millard. But I'll finish another dozen books before the year is out.
