@kaitlyn_e_lee I’m personally a big fan of @_edinh “Whose Bosnia?” but it’s a historical work. And I think Josip Glaurdic’s “The Hour of Europe” is a seminal study of the dissolution of Yugoslavia. But it depends on what you’re working on exactly.

I think for Balkan studies in the West it’s clearly Robert Kaplan’s “Balkan Ghosts” (though a strong case could also be made for Rebecca West’s “Black Lamb and Grey Falcon”). @nikimarbella It depends on what you’re interested in. But I always recommend @markoah’s “How Bosnia Armed,” tho it’s focused on the military-political aspects of the Bosnian War. J. Glaurdic’s “The Hour of Europe,” Mark Mazower’s “The Balkans,” “The Death of Yugoslavia” for general primers.
