Two of the new novels (published in 2021) I read last year, Anthony Doerr’s “Cloud Cuckoo Land” and Richard Powers’s “Bewilderment,” both feature non-neurotypical boys with intense passion for the environment. Powers definitely influenced by Greta Thunberg. What about Doerr?

Audiobooks I recommend: "The Passenger" & "Stella Maris" by Cormac McCarthy. Bravura performance by @MacLeodAndrews, but @justjuliawhelan is just breathtaking in both. Also, Charlie Thurston narrating Barbara Kingsolver's "Demon Copperhead" is so, so very good. Wonderful novels.

I've only read the intro & 1st 2 chapters of @MrKRudd's new book "The Avoidable War," but already I'd heartily recommend it for its framing, accurate retelling of the history of US-China relations, and admirably dispassionate characterization of views from Beijing and Washington.
