@SalinaBBaker Have you ever read an old historical by Elswyth Thane called Dawn's Early Light? Revolutionary war and I remember some "Swamp Fox" Francis Marion toward the end. It was written in the 40s, so some dated attitudes, but Thane was one of my first serious influences.

@HeidiMalagisi1 As long as you have no expectations of it being Jane Austen's Persuasion, you'll be fine. It's pretty, mostly well-acted, and aimed toward a modern audience language-wise. The diverse cast was a good choice, and it also reminds you from the start this isn't historical Jane.
