@okprogressnow I highly recommend reading Work Won't Love you Back by Sarah Jaffe. She has an entire section on nonprofits that talks about the nonprofit industrial complex's place in upholding capitalism and how the funding model (dependent on rich white men) serves to slow progress.

@CathJSweeney Not to mention how popular books like DC Talk’s Jesus Freaks—which are filled with stories of Christian persecution—are! Evangelical America raises kids to believe that if they aren’t feeling persecuted, they aren’t doing Christianity right & are risking eternal damnation.

I *love* that the base pharmacy—which is already closed on weekends and any time after 4 pm—also randomly closes for a day without warning in middle of the week a few times a month for trainings. I especially love when those days fall on a day I *need* to refill my medications.
