I just finished reading The White Stag, the 1938 Newberry Award winner by Kate Seredy. It's about the mythological roots of Hungary and Attila the Hun. The illustrations are stunning, and the writing is haunting. The story is brutal. Strange experience.

I'm reading A People's History of the United States by Howard Zinn for the first time. I know this is a controversial book. Unless many of his facts were pulled out of thin air, I don't see what's controversial.
