My 17 year old son has just (miracles do happen) started reading again & loved Stoner by John Williams. Gave him Hemingway & his reaction is ‘what the f*** ? it’s so bad!’. Has anyone got ideas of novels you might love if you loved Stoner? Quiet, beautiful, emotionally raw etc?
