I’m reading Isaac Bashevis Singer’s “Satan in Goray” because Andrea Dworkin talks about it in “Intercourse” and honestly idk that I would have picked a deeply weird story about Polish Sabbateanism to make my point about sex & misogyny

I’m rereading Patrick Rothfuss’s The Name of the Wind via audiobook and it’s so so good. I normally kind of hate fantasy so I can’t work out why this is different but it’s a while since I got so sucked into a novel.

I’ve started listening to Francis Spufford‘s Red Plenty and finding it a weird experience because i can’t work out how annoyed I should be by it

Keep seeing tweets about that bad evangelical sex book and remembering how Jean-Luc Marion's "The Erotic Phenomenon" suggested the paradigm for proper erotic receptivity was Christ's death on the cross. John Caputo's review said it was the work of a "philosophical genius".
