I don't know thing the first about Mary Lawson's work, BUT, --I would not buy a novel entitled A Town Called Solace. if the publisher thinks that appeals in a nice sentimental way, then they've lost me. Until the Booker judges tell me it might be OK. #BookerPrize2021

@ShannonNajma @WSJ A book NO ONE else will suggest that you read, I bet, is Philip Roth's midwestern novel from the sixties, WHEN SHE WAS GOOD. You can see and feel some essences presciently. (also Lewis's MAIN STREET)....get a grasp by a real artist and the rest will follow...I believe but...
