Karen Tei Yamashita’s Letters to Memory is a gorgeous book. The LA scene is familiar as is the PK experience (Niebuhr, Thurman). With the photos & memorabilia, it really stands out as a beautifully written memoir. May even assign it someday. Have to pick up her other books now.

@FluentMundo Where Memory Dwells: Culture and State Violence in Chile by Macarena Gómez-Barris looks fascinating. The Killing Zone: The United States Wages Cold War in Latin America by Stephen Rabe is a good read (the chapter on Chile & US policies covered a lot of info).
