@lancewallnau If you've ever read something that Heidegger commented on (e.g. Plato's Sophist), you could see whether starting with Heidegger's commentary helps you get a foothold. A good example is Plato's Republic + Heidegger's commentary on the cave allegory (https://t.co/eqGp0FVcQh has it)

Michael and Catherine Zuckert's Leo Strauss and the Problem of Political Philosophy is good 2nd lit as is Meier's Leo Strauss and the Theologico-Political Problem
