Found another Isabel Allende book to read—Ripper, set in my favorite city, San Francisco. This one is really different, so far, from A Long Petal of the Sea, The Wind Knows My Name, and The House of the Spirits, her other books I’ve read recently.

Finished reading all of the 444 pages of Barbara Kingsolver’s Prodigal Summer. It has been a while since I read some of her other novels. Masterful storytelling along with a large dose of biology, ecology, entomology, and human behavior.

Over many years, I have read several Barbara Kingsolver books from The Poisonwood Bible to The Bean Tree to Prodigal Summer. Recently, I’ve been reading Lacuna. Wonderful writing, but the storyline took such a terrible turn. Some parallels to today! https://t.co/SJzWqWjYR2

Tracy Kidder is one of the best non-fiction writers I have read. From his book 1978 about Alaska to Mountains Beyond Mountains about Dr. Paul Farmer his writing is eminently readable. I look forward to reading Rough Sleepers. https://t.co/vqlErOQrLe

Finished reading, Island Beneath the Sea by Isabel Allende. Had to read it with my left eye closed because I have read so many books these past few weeks, my left eye hurts. Perhaps I should take a break and not pick up another book off the unread book shelf.

Finished reading another Isabel Allende book, The Wind Knows My Name. It begins before WWII in Austria and ends in San Francisco during the first year of the pandemic. Finished reading her A Long Petal of the Sea a few days ago.

Just got back from my little walk up the steep driveway.🚶🏻‍♀️ Got my heart rate up to 115, but it started going down as soon as I stopped. After I finish doomscrolling, I want to get back to reading Braiding Sweetgrass by Robin Wall Kimmerer.📚
