@BradAT You ever read anything by Dan Simmons? The Terror Children of the Night (2 examples; he’s written a lot) I’m reading all the old Bond books by Ian Fleming right now. They’re a bit of a hoot on multiple levels. Quite entertaining as long as you’re not expecting literary genius.

@Chronotope @JeromySonne @swodinsky @humanpropensity @Iwillleavenow @coreypein @docadam Quite some years ago I read The Commanding Heights by Daniel Yergin. It was published in 1998 (afterglow of fall of USSR). Great book, regardless of whether you agree with its positions. If you read it now, post '08 crash (post many things really), a lot of it is very cringe.
