@MartinKaste @DouthatNYT Sapiens wasn't a good book. I started reading it. Then I started skimming it. I don't think I finished it. It's was oddly bad. What is a great book is the one I'm reading now: "An Immense World: How Animal Senses Reveal the Hidden Realms Around Us," by Ed Yong.

I (and Steve) do think there's an unhealthy amount of progressive racism in an underlying belief that black and brown criminals are somehow representative of their "community." They refuse to see their law-abiding neighbors as more reflective.
