Henry David Thoreau was born 205 years ago today. One of my earliest cultural and historical pilgrimages as a teenager was to Concord, Mass and Walden Pond. Some went to Disneyland to see a mouse. I travelled to Walden Pond to breath the same air as Thoreau.
