Ayn Rand

@ShaneGoldmacher My piece on the SBF saga and how it reads like you took the villains from an Ayn Rand novel and put them all in the same story. "It’s the distinctive combination of loud altruist pieties and underhanded wheeling and dealing." https://t.co/5izPVGzCHf

@paulcrider That's where I think Tom Wolfe's critiques in "The Painted Word" are relevant. Too much of modern art became esoteric commentary on the theories of other people in the art world.

At @Discourse_Mag, my review of @TimothySandefur book "Freedom's Furies" just posted. It's an enjoyable book overall, but I found it especially interesting as a look at a world with different political alignments and cultural associations. https://t.co/HnWiJSga2f

Philosophy: Who Needs It

Ayn Rand

@storeymoorfield My favorite aspect of that is that his only summary of Ayn Rand's philosophical views is from an "about the author" blurb at the back of the book. Because, you know, there's not much philosophy in the actual novel.

@Gurdur The Rainbow Fish by Marcus Pfister is one of the worst children's books ever written.
