@colelaynewrites Umm, no. I don't think I would be disappointed. I like authors not only for the genre and stories, but for the "voice" of the author. Like Dean Koontz or Neil Gaiman. If they started writing outside of their genre I would a least try it.

My WIP is set in a dystopian world. A beta reader asked " you don't think this could actually happen? People would stop it before it gets this far." No, they would not. Octavia Butler wrote Parable of the Sower almost 30yr ago.

@LindenmuthWendi I think the book she's referring to is One, No One And One Hundred Thousand by Luigi Pirandello. He literally has a mental break over it.
