Lastly, I loved when Elizabeth talked about how a workshop (mistakenly) give absolutes: "Don't be melodramatic," Ann Patchett remembers from a workshop. "No authorial intrusion" was the rule Elizabeth recalled. Patchett went on to write BEL CANTO, which won many prizes.
