The Ivy Rowe one I did about McFadden was different; I love the book Fair and Tender Ladies by Lee Smith in which we grow up with a character named Ivy Rowe through letters she writes to other people over her life, from being very young to much older.

3) Hold Me Tight: 7 Conversations for a Lifetime of Love by Sue Johnson. It's about "adult romantic love" and attachment theory (Bowlby's work applied to adults). Very powerful book which I quote from at the start of each podcast.

4) Dark Matter by Blake Crouch, a popular book, science fiction. Read it in two days. Don't want to spoil it by describing it, but loved it. It was my first book of the year, so it could be it got some sort of primacy advantage since I was bereft from not reading in a while.

1) The Race Between Education and Tech by Goldin and Katz. We are reading it in my "Issues in Economics" class and not surprisingly, it's phenomenal. 2) Streets of Gold: America's Untold Story of Immigrant Success by Aramitzky and @leah_boustan . Loved it, as did students.
