@elizmccracken What the protagonist has going on is not clarified but I immediately thought of Butterflies by Ian McEwan (from First Love, Last Rites.) Also, The WIF by Tom McAllister focuses on a young man w disabilities (can scan it for you if you wanna take a look).

@saderotica Doesn’t The Vanishing Half by Brit Bennett do this? Also, Wide Sargasso Sea by Jean Rhys as an older example though the switch is not frequent. One I really loved that does this, but is YA, is the Noughts and Crosses series by Malorie Blackman.

@lagunabayfables @vic_toriawrites Currently reading Sarah M. Broom’s The Yellow House from 2019 and loving it. Just read Deborah Levy’s Real Estate and Ann Patchett’s These Precious Days and loved them too! Also, Francisco Cantú’s The Line Becomes a River, if you’re into immigration policy etc.

I’ve been stockpiling Ann Patchett books because I love her so much that I don’t want to run out of her. Spending the late afternoon with chocolate chip muffins, milk, and a Patchett novel, first in the bath and now on the sofa with all the animals. Life is good.
