3. THE THREE HOSTAGES, the best book by John Buchan - one of the greatest adventure/thriller writers ever. It's gripping, magnificent, breathtaking. (Not PC, because of its time) It has a villain to rival any in James Bond. Do read it. #susanhillbookchoice.

@DrSimonCMP Ha, you should have been here last week. Roofers on the house next door, leaping from end to end without helmets or any other safety gear, singing along to R1, cracking jokes, throwing packs of tiles to one another. I couldn't go on watching.
