Do we know if Ali Smith is GC? I remember really loving How To Be Both and Girl Meets Boy, but could see either as being spun as pro- or anti-trans. And given her being a UK lesbian of a certain age, I feel like she could really go hard either way.

I read the "The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel" series (by Michael Scott, no relation to the Terf or her racist wizards) and it was easily the worst prose I'd read in my adult life, but I finished all six books in the series because the plot was really engaging.
