@SitsmithandCo It does read like a poem, doesn’t it, that insistent rhythm, the gorgeous language. But it’s from a chapter of a novel called The Needle’s Eye by Margaret Drabble - one her lesser-read/known books I think, but the one closest to my heart because of how it celebrates the everyday
