Now listening to Susanna Clarke's Piranesi. I gave up on this one for a couple of months after listening to it for a 1/2 hour, but it's right after that that it becomes more interesting, so I'm hoping for a better experience this time.

@petersagal The Years of Rice and Salt by Kim Stanley Robinson is awesome--alternate history on its grandest scale. And have you watched For All Mankind? That's the best on-screen alternate history I've ever seen.

@AlanSmale's Hot Moon is great stuff--his best yet! It's wonderful to see the sprezzatura his bringing his day job (he's a NASA astrophysicist) fully into his fiction--the reader doesn't spend the novel questioning whether all the parts really work and can just enjoy the action.
