The Princess Bride: S. Morgenstern's Classic Tale of True Love and High Adventure
William Goldman
@LauraBale1983 @Sophia_Nyx Maybe you'd like Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid too. While not a comedy, it does have quite some humour to it. William Goldman wrote it, and it's clear he also wrote The Princess Bride. Paul Newman and Robert Redford also have amazing chemistry in this buddy movie. https://t.co/ZiTbhHTd60

The Works of Alexandre Dumas: Three Musketeers...
Alexandre Dumas
@proyearner He's just one classic author of many of course, but Alexandre Dumas, best known for The three musketeers, was black. I might not be the best judge of it it can be seen in his writing, aimed at most likely a mainly white audience at the time.

Metropolis: (illustrated edition)
Thea Von Harbou
@Mady13444 @insanewomenfan @_MaAkuMa_ Thea von Harbou also wrote Metropolis while Fritz Lang directed, it's pretty much the mother of all science fiction movies. There was science fiction before, but I think this was the first full length movie. https://t.co/kEVfL06pIE

Citizen Kane
Orson Welles
@drnoir33 @Sophia_Nyx It's alright to not like the stories of his movies, the only part of what you said I'm disputing is that he'd be the most overrated director ever. Personally I did not find Orson Welles's Citizen Kane that compelling either, but can still admire some technical aspects of it.

Harpo Speaks!
Harpo Marx
@GopiBain I feel like the better people will do it. Harpo Marx's biography Harpo Speaks! gives credit to Rowland Barber on the cover. As far as I understand Mr Barber wrote it using audio recordings of Harpo, I found a piece of it and it's written like he says it. Harpo was a poor writer.
