@Joi_the_Artist I think at her very best she's on their level, but imho LM Montgomery's batting average wasn't great. Like Anne of Green Gables gets slightly worse with each book, until it verges on parody, and her other series are lesser. But still, that first book is something.

LM Montgomery (especially in short story collections) kind of does this, as does Elizabeth Gaskell (Especially in My Lady Ludlow and Cranford), but they're both oriented around the people mostly. Keillor is very oriented around place, which makes it a different genre altogether.
