Translated from the German by John E. Woods.
Paris correspondent for National Public Radio. My take on France.
Finally visited Grasse! Have wanted to go for a while, especially after reading Patrick Suskind’s astonishing and creepy book, “Perfume” set in 18th century Paris and Grasse. https://www.npr.org/2021/09/25/1039336681/grasse-perfume-france

@runwithskizzers I feel like this same misunderstanding also applies to the "a character doing a bad thing does not mean the author endorses it" debate. I will happily read and enjoy Patrick Suskind's PERFUME; I have no interest in chatting with its protagonist.
