@smith4colts @ClayJenkinson So much good stuff on TR! The Edmund Morris trilogy is a classic. The first is the best, but the one on the presidency is amazing too. If you haven't, I'd read *Field of Blood* by @jbf1755 on Congress before the Civil War. The Fiery Trial by Eric Foner is worth reading too.

#OTD in 1815, Thomas Jefferson wrote to John Adams, "I cannot live without books." Perhaps the most relatable thing he's ever written. What books can't you live without? If my house was on fire and I could grab one book, I'd grab my grandmother's copy of Pride and Prejudice.

In 1798, William Henry Harrison wrote to John Adams expressing his support for the administration during the XYZ Affair. I always associate Harrison with the antebellum period because of his presidency, so seeing that correspondence was a bit of a 🤯moment.
