Also, spoilers! If Taylor Kitsch plays a bad guy in American Assassin (Mitch Rapp/Vince Flynn) and The Terminal List (James Reece/Jack Carr), it becomes harder for me to see how The Terminal List differs from American Assassin.

By contrast, Tom Clancy wrote Patriot Games before The Hunt for Red October. Its story takes place before Hunt, but it was published after.

Anyone know if there will be further continuations of Robert B. Parker's Western series Virgil Cole & Everett Hitch? The first in the series, Appaloosa, was adapted for film by Ed Harris and Robert Knott, which landed Knott the continuation job.

One issue w/ using the continuation material is losing the cachet of "as Ian Fleming's James Bond." The continuation novels are not as much Ian Fleming's work. Gardner particularly was not allowed to approximate Fleming, not allowed to explore Bond's psyche.
