@shockproofbeats I think you’re after something like Celeste Ng’s (BRILLIANT!) Little Fires Everywhere. But does Vassily Grossman’s Life and Fate count? Where the community is the USSR in WW2 and he takes on the impossible task of representing a nation from every angle imaginable.

They named the tankers after shells in honour of Marcus Samuel’s father (who shared his name), and later rechristened the company Shell Transport and Trading for the same reason https://t.co/m8IMmE2O68
