@whaleperson Many things from Santa Fe Institute are great. Eg _Worlds Hidden in Plain Sight_ and _Complexity Economics_. Stuart Kauffman has many interesting books as well, including _The Origins of Order_. There’s also Adrian Bejan and his “Constructal Law”, and Terence Deacon’s Voids.

@curiovana The Internet and mobile/social stuff (post-2007-ish) is second stage of that. But first stage was in the 1980s. Which is why you have Neil Postman writing "Amusing Ourselves to Death" in 1985; The Matrix & Fight Club (novel was 1996); etc. Narcissism & Id & "I'm OK You're OK"
