Went to first night of Into the Woods at Signature Theatre. Glorious musical inversion of fairytales with light and dark sides. The shrewdly chosen set is an abandoned Victorian nursery. The ensemble cast is tremendous and clearly having fun. Stephen Sondheim would have loved it.

Went to first night of Cats at National Theatre. Andrew Lloyd Webber's 1981 musical based on T S Eliot's poems is still like a sugar rush. High energy, fleet footed cast is patently having fun so the audience does too. The song 'Memory' proves a reliable show stopper again.
